The SCHS Art Club is open to anyone and everyone who appreciates or enjoys doing art - this means everything from music, writing, painting; anything artistic. Don't have to sign up to show up.
The Build a Better Community Club is a club dedicated to giving back to the local communities. While all over the world people are suffering from poverty, hunger and lack of attention, instances like this exist right here at home. Our main goal is to help provide attention to needs of the local population and share compassion with those in need. Some of the ways we give back are through food drives, hygiene packets and binky blankets for children taken away from their families or to the hospital.
The SCHS Gay-Straight Alliance is not trying to push our views on anyone. Our goal is to try to make a difference in our school and community. We believe everyone deserves to feel accepted. This club is about tolerance and friendship. The San Clemente GSA brings together queer youth and straight allies to fight homophobia on campus and in the community. By raising awareness of different sexual and gender identities, linking homophobia with other oppressions, and advocating for equal treatment for youth of all sexual orientations, our GSA will try to create a school environment free of homophobic sexual, verbal and physical harassment.
The Make-A-Wish foundation is a well known organization that grants wishes to children with life-threatening medical conditions. The San Clemente High School Make-A-Wish Club helps raise money to grant these wishes. Being apart of the Make-A-Wish Club means that you are committed to helping raise awareness of the foundation. It is so fulfilling to see the smiles on a child's face when they are given the opportunity to wish for anything they want... the sky's the limit. A wish is more than a once-in-a-life-time experience, but as they sit in the hospital receiving treatments it takes their mind off of the emotional and physical pain and rests solely on a dream that will exceed their expectations and stretch their imaginations to the fullest. Help make a difference and join us on our mission to change children's lives one by one. I guarantee it will be worth the time and effort. If you are interested in being a part of the Make-A-Wish Club please contact Brooke Bedard at makeawishclubsch@gmail.com.
